Welcome to the New Teen Advisory Board - Online and All the Time!

...does that sound a little hokey? Yeah, I guess it does. But I'm too excited about this to care at the moment.

Here's the thing. Because of budget cuts, time crunch, and all sorts of sad things like that, we can't hold an official monthly meeting of the Teen Advisory Board.

BUT

We still want your feedback on ideas for programs, the latest and greatest books, movies, and CDs to be on the lookout for, and anything else you're pretty sure our library needs to be in the know about.

We'll do some of that at other programs, and I always love to hear from you when you stop into the library.

But sometimes you have a great idea, and you have to tell somebody about it right now, and waiting until the next Anime Club just isn't an option.

That's what this blog is for. Comment on the posts below, and make your voice heard!

Programs!

We've had some great ones over the years - frisbees, yo-yos, wild skateboarders, even dance and decorating - both the library and henna tattoos!

Keeping in mind that our budget has been squeezed really tightly, is there anything you'd like to see here? Anything you'd like to do or learn? Crafts, hobbies, performers, even just a kick back and relax night - post them here.

Books

Hey, we do our best to keep an eye out for the greatest reads of the year, but sometimes those come from your recommendations!

If you hear about or read a great book and we don't have a copy on shelf, drop a note here to let us know! We can't promise we'll be able to purchase them all, but we'll do our best.

Remember to include both title and author, and if it's part of a series. There are a lot of books out there - we want to make sure we get the right one.

Movies

We're pretty proud of our movie collection here - and we've got a right to be! We've got one of the biggest collections in Macomb County.

That means we've always got our eyes - and ears! - open for terrific DVDs to add to our shelves. Spot one? Let us know!

Music

Our music CDs might look like one of our smaller collections, but appearances can be deceiving! We have a pretty solid music collection, but that doesn't mean we won't take suggestions. Remember, we can't get everything, but we can definitely do our best!
